catching up...

im sure i have a lot more funnies than this- but it has been such a long time since i added things to this blog- i figured i might as well try! i keep a running list on my phone (when i remember) of some good old funnies... so here goes!

SUPER old, and slowly getting newer...

(prob 2 years ago, ethan, 3). This morning, ethan woke me up by trying to give me a cinderella book.
      ETHAN- "mommy! i dot a book de you!"(translation- i got a book for you!)
    ME- "its ok, ethan, i''m sleeping, so you can read it!"
   ETHAN- "but mommy,- da pincess on the book is bootyful! booytful like you! i dot a book de you, cause you aw bootyful too!" (translation- but mommy, the princess on the book is beautful, like you! i got the book for you, cause you are beautiful too!"
  Then he kisses my hand, and said "i yub you mommy!"  
    no translation necessary. be still my heart!

ME- (4 months-ish post kinzlee, frustrated with baby weight)- " Im so tired of having nothing to wear. Im so fat!"
Chris whispers to rylan
RYLAN- "mommy! youre not fat."
ME- " oh thanks Rylan! did daddy tell you to say that?
RYLAN- "yes. but your legs are fat..."

Driving in the car. looking at a funny picture on my phone. Caden (4) asked to see it. I told him I would show it to him when we got home, but then showed it to him really quick in the car. Caden then accuses me of 'tricking' him because i showed it to him before we got home. i told him that i could still show it to him when we got home and he could see it again.
  CADEN- "ok mommy. but next time? dont be so rude about it!"
         HUH???

  RYLAN (4)- That lady's is gonna have a baby soon.
ME- " which lady?"
RYLAN- "see that lady in the red shirt with the big belly? its called a pouch. its for babies." :)

CADEN- "mommy! you warmed me up, and FREAKED me out!"

Caden told his first joke (5)
    CADEN- "mom, ive got a joke for you! what is the sky pees and poops?"
    ME- "I dont know? what?"
    CADEN- "then its gonna land on people and poop and pee on them!! Then laughs uncontrollably.

RYLAN- "mommy- im never gonna tell mean things at you right now."
ME- "why?"
RYLAN- " Because you got me frozen yogurt."

ME- "What makes daddy the best daddy in the whole world?"
CADEN - " because he keeps us safe. if a bad guy came at us, im sure daddy would run out to him and punch him in the face!"
RYLAN- "because he does fun things to make us happy, like go to the pool."
ETHAN- "because he karate chops the trash cans when there are bad guys in them!" huh???

SUMMER 2014- del mar fair, at the Lifehouse concert. Singing "I am restless, looking for you". Rylan keeps asking, "where is restess? He's looking for him! and he starts wandering through the bleachers looking for him. it was the cutest thing. Then he asks me if I can take him down to see the guy (lead singer).
ME- " im sorry rylan, we cant. you need a ticket to go down there."
RYLAN- "Oh. and we used all our tickets on the rides, huh." :(

CADEN- 5. Hasnt seen grammy in a while since they moved to utah. " When i die, i get to see grammy again, right?"
ME- "of course- youll see grammy in heaven!"
CADEN- " well then i cant wait to die!"
ME- "Why would you want to die???"
CADEN- "Because i REALLY want to see my grammy!"

cadens 'peanuts'

tonight, caden jumps up on to the stool, and he his himself in a, lets jut say a boy soft spot. he immediately sat down and said- CADEN- " OUCH! my peanuts!"

was it a cross between 'penis' and 'nuts'? we may never know... :)

cadens dream...

caden just came downstairs from his nap. i give him a hug and kiss and ask him how his nap went. he said-
CADEN- "good. but i dont want to go in the shark jar."
ME- "did you have a dream about a shark jar?"
CADEN- "yeah, but i went and got an ice cube. i put the ice cube in the shark jar, so i wouldnt go in."

i tried to get some more details about the shark jar, and why he needed to get an ice cube to feed the sharks in the shark jar. he didnt make much sense (as most dreams dont!), and all i got was that it was a giant shark in the jar, and something about a snow day. how funny that my four year olds dreams are as random as mine!

rylan- shooting guns

tonight, Chris was showing rylan some iphone videos of him and the guys at their shooting escapade this afternoon. Rylan watched them over and over and then said,
RYLAN- "dad, i want to go shoot some guns! firemen dont shoot guns, they just hold other guys' hoses!"

Made chris laugh. He made sure to send that message to our good friend pat berry, who is a firefighter in CO.

a few oldies, and a couple goodies...

i also write some of these little funnies down on my notes on my phone, just to make sure i dont forget them... i found a couple on my phone that i realized i never posted on here!

(this was back in april maybe?)
CADEN- "i want my cousin tommy! he wants to come over to my house today, cause i miss him!:
Me- "tommy cant come over today- he lives too far away!"
CADEN-" where does he live?"
Me- "in yorba linda."
CADEN- " in ME-ba, linda???"

a few months ago...
CADEN- " I love you mommy. i need you good take of care for me."
say what???? i think he was asking me to take good care of him! or that maybe i do take good care of him? totally creative phrasing, but it was so sweet either way!

just a few weeks ago...
CADEN- "daddy, we can talk about arms, and legs, and feet, and eyes. But we can't talk about wieners, butts, poop and pee. But I pooped really big and it splashed my butt. I can talk about that."

seriously? is it just innate in all boys to be like this????

and on a more serious, spiritual note...

SWEET LITTLE RYLAN...(april 2011)
Rylan, on a potty break from sacrament on Easter sunday. Was walking down the hall, saw a large painting of Jesus Christ, and said...
RYLAN- "When i was a baby, He held me."
rylan has said this on a few occasions, without ANY prompting whatsoever. even before we started telling him who Jesus was. There are two instances which come to mind. Rylan and caden were preemies, and spent over two weeks at the hospital before they could come home. i was not able to be there 24 hours a day.
my second thought- when rylan was a month old (and barely over 4 pounds), he caught a virus that made him extremely sick. so sick, that he stopped eating, got very dehydrated, and actually stopped breathing a couple of times. he was lifeflighted to childrens hospital. i was not able to be with him,and hold him, until a few hours later.

How beautiful would it be if Christ was able to be there, to hold and love him when their mommy couldnt. it warms my heart to know that at such a young age, my tender hearted rylan knows who Jesus is, and feels that he is loved by him, and has been held by him (physically or otherwise!)

ethan love...

Every night, i tuck my sweetest little Ethan in, before i go to bed. I kiss his little cheek, and say
"i love you baby"

and every once in a while, in his sleep, he whispers it right back to me.

" I yub yoo, mommy"

most rewarding moment of my life.

Caden: "we are
Going camping in Utah. That is where Jesus lives."

Daddy- "oh really. Who told you that?"

Caden: "my mouth did."
