Tonight, about an hour after the boys had been put to bed, Rylan started crying. I told him to be quiet and close his eyes and to go sleep. 5 minutes later, he started crying again. I went in his room, sat on his bed, and asked him why he was crying. Rylan replied, "I want mooooo-mmy! Dont leave, mommy!"
He was so sweet and sad, i couldnt help but lay down next to him. I put my hand on his little face, stroked his soft skin, and told him to close his eyes. he wriggled and wiggled until he got his skinny little arm underneath and around my neck, and pulled as hard as he could until i was practically laying on his face. i snuggled my nose on his tear streaked cheek and just whispered to him. he was half asleep at this point, with his eyes closed. but every time i tried to move an inch to back away, he just squeezed his little arm tighter around my shoulders and pulled me closer.
now THIS is what parenting is all about for me. those random, little moments when it is just me and my sweet little boy, listening to him breathe, watching his chest rise up and down, and smelling his sweet skin. How much i love my little boys!!!
